Halogen car headlights have strong penetrating power

Disadvantages: high temperature, poor durability, low brightness.


Xenon car headlights are highly eye-catching

Xenon lamp (HID) is a high-pressure gas discharge lamp. By filling a variety of chemical gases, such as xenon and other inert gases in the anti-ultraviolet crystal quartz glass tube, and then using a supercharger to instantly increase the vehicle 2V power supply to 23000V, under high voltage, the xenon gas will be ionized and will be between the two poles of the power supply. A light source is generated between. The performance of xenon lamps has been significantly improved compared with halogen lamps, and the efficiency of converting electrical energy into light energy is more than 70% higher than that of halogen lamps.

Advantage:

1. High brightness, generally 3 times that of halogen lamps;

2. High color temperature, HID lamp can produce 4000-2000k color temperature light, which is close to the color of noon daylight, and the acceptance and comfort of human eyes are high;

3. Long life: HID uses electrons to excite gas to emit light, and there is no tungsten wire, so it has a long life. A set of HID gas discharge lamps is about 3000 hours;

4. Low power consumption: The power of HID is generally only 35W, while the power of ordinary car lights is generally 55W.

Disadvantages: Obviously, heat and very high heat are the main disadvantages of HID. 300-400°C is normal, and the lampshade is yellowed from time to time. In addition, the delay of turning on the headlights is also its shortcoming.


Energy-saving and environmentally friendly LED car headlights

LED has a very popular Chinese name, light-emitting diode. Nowadays, it often appears in the role of light boxes, signboards, indicator lights and backlights of various electrical appliances, and is often an important part of car taillights, high-position brake lights, and daytime running lights. Many high-end models on the market today are also equipped with high-tech all-LED headlights, which are lighting fixtures that use LEDs as light sources.

Advantage:

1. Energy-saving, cold light source emits low heat, and the energy consumption of LED components is only /20 of that of halogen lamps;

2. Super long life and good durability: LED components currently used in automobiles can basically reach the level of 50,000 hours. Due to the simple structure of LED components, the impact resistance and shock resistance are very good, and they are not easy to break;

3. The volume of LED is very small, designers can get rid of technical constraints, so that the headlight shape can make a qualitative leap;

4. Fast response speed: used in the headlights, it has a higher response speed than xenon lamps and halogen headlights, and has a better guarantee for driving safety;

5. It can be driven by low-voltage direct current, which has small load on the vehicle battery, weak interference, low requirements for the use environment, and good adaptability.

Disadvantage: There is only the cost. Although it has been declining, the equipment cost of LED lamps is still high, especially the headlamp group with complex functions.


In short, the three types of headlights have their own advantages and disadvantages, but what we can see is that LED headlights are indeed a major trend in the future. When LEDs have made good breakthroughs in technology and cost, the production of automotive headlights Manufacturers will be equipped with LED headlights in more and more models in the future.
